7 breweries on the Mid North Coast bringing more than beer to the table

Dog-friendly breweries on the Mid North Coast hosting live music, happy hour, meal deals and more.

Did you know the Mid North Coast has a bunch of breweries?

Whether they call themselves small batch, craft, independent or micro breweries, these venues have more than just beer on offer.

Most are dog friendly, some have meal deals and happy hours, many double as live music venues, some host private functions including weddings – and all are popular with their local communities.

Here’s a list of seven breweries from Woolgoolga to Port Macquarie and in between, with a little “taste test” for each venue to give you an idea of the unique flavours on offer.

1. Mogul Beer Brewery, WOOLGOOLGA

Mogul hosts Happy Hour every Wednesday through Friday, serving $6 schooners from 4pm to 5pm.

If you’re looking to fill your bellies, the brewery has partnered with food truck Taste of Aloha serving Hawaiian-inspired burgers, wraps, tacos and fries.

They have nine house brews on offer, can host your next private function, and welcome all dogs.

Address: 20C Featherstone Dr, Woolgoolga (opposite Mitre 10)
Opening hours: Wednesdays to Sunday from 11am. Closes 6pm on Wednesdays, 8pm Thursdays, 9pm Friday and Saturday nights and 6pm on Sundays.

2. Woolgoolga Brewing Co, WOOLGOOLGA

Locally known as “Woopi Brewery”, this venue also loves a Happy Hour. So much so, it’s actually two hours. On Fridays between 4pm and 6pm you can enjoy $7 schooners.

As for meal deals, throughout February kids eat for free on Thursday’s Pizza Night. Besides wood-fired pizza, the brewery offers platters and boards perfect for sharing with your crew.

This dog-friendly brewery hosts regular live music events, so keep an eye on their socials for what’s coming up. There’s also plenty of space for private events if you have something to celebrate.

Opening hours: Thursdays 12pm to 8pm, Fridays 12pm to 9.30pm, Saturdays 12pm to 9.30pm and Sundays 12pm to 7pm.

3. King Tide Brewing, COFFS HARBOUR

King Tide in Coffs has an extensive lunch and dinner menu, with guest chefs One Two Five Pizza serving slices on Tuesdays from 4pm.

Another dog-friendly brewery, this venue also hosts private events including weddings for up to 150 guests.

Address: 1 Studio Lane, Coffs Harbour.
Opening hours: Wednesdays and Thursdays 12 noon to 9pm, Friday and Saturdays 12 noon until late, Sundays 12 noon until 5pm, plus Pizza truck on Tuesdays from 4 to 9pm.

The Bellingen Brewery is back and so is Thursday’s Pizza and Pint deal for $35.

Apart from wood-fired pizzas and beers on tap, this venue has an extensive wine and cocktails list and is known to host regular live music.

Opening hours:  Monday to Thursdays 5 to 10pm, Friday and Saturdays 12 noon to 12am, Sundays 12 noon to 10pm.

5. Bucket Brewery, KEMPSEY

On the riverbank in South Kempsey you’ll find the intimate Bucket Brewery, where you can book in for guided tours and taste testing.

The venue is known to host live music events with food trucks, so keep an eye on their socials.

They’re also definitely dog friendly – the brewery itself is named after the family-dog, Miss Bucket.

6. Moorebeer Brewing Co, PORT MACQUARIE

Ten taps pouring, private functions on offer, and live music events on the regular at Moorebeer.

Address: 35 Merrigal Road, Port Macquarie.
Opening hours: Fridays 12 noon until 10pm, and Saturday and Sundays 12 noon until 5pm 

7. Black Duck Brewery, PORT MACQUARIE

This cozy brewery hosts live music and serves wood-fired pizzas every Friday night. Unfortunately, dogs are a no-go at this brewery, so keep that in mind before visiting.
